Maybe you’re thinking about coming to our villa for some days of peace and joyful experiences. At the villa we have a great staff with the only idea of trying to make your stay even better. Who are those people you ask, here we have them.

Our full time manager is Lingga, he’s the one that can help you solve all your doubts and he can also show you how to surf. Our cheff is Putu, and she’ll make  all the meals you ask for. Suly is her Cheff assistant and as his title says, he’s the one that helps to make all those great dishes. Iluh and Kadek are the ones that take care of the housekeeping at we’ll make your stay even more graceful. Kus is the man that takes care of the pool and Made, Dewa and Ketut are the security guys.

This is all the staff that you’ll have with you if you come to our villa to enjoy some holidays or to have a new adventure to explain.

In Bali, the religion of most people is Hinduism, and they have many temples and rituals to honor the religion and the Gods in it. Sanghyang Widi Wasa is the supreme God, his throne (called Padmasana) is always in the holiest part of the temple. Other Gods widely known are Brahma, its the creator and can be represented by a bull or the color red; Vishnu is the protector and the responsible for live, it can be represented by the color black; and Shiva the destroyer, it’s associated with the color white and death. This ones are the more important and most represented, but they’re not the only ones. If you come to Bali, you’ll see some other temples dedicated to other Gods.

The tropical clima of Bali makes that everywhere in the island you have a very fertile land, and that’s one of the reasons of the enormous amount of different types and kinds of flowers, plants and trees that you can find in the island. From huge banyan trees to bamboos, from coconut trees to mangroves. And everyone in Bali loves flowers, they use them in gardens, temples floors or roads and they decorate every home. Some of those flowers that grow in Bali are jasmine, begonias, roses, water lily or orchids. The flowers are also used as decorations in places such as statues, temples and even on prayers and offerings to the gods. Everywhere you look you’ll find beautiful plants that create all these pretty environments that make our island so beautiful and great.

Other than swim, surf, dance, go to the beach and have a lot of fun, maybe you want to do some cultural things, like go to a museum and see and understand more things about the Balinese culture. Here we list for you some of the greater and more interesting museums of the island.

Bali Museum: it’s in Denpasar and you can see there theatrical masks and instruments; sculptures and paintings and some other archeological findings.

Agung Rai Museum of Art  (ARMA): In this museum placed in Agung, you can see a private collection with many works of Balinese, Javanese and foreigners artists.

Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali. It’s in Denpasar and they exhibit traditional tools and crafts, and also some masks and costumes from all over Bali. If that’s not enough for you, they also have some ethnographical and archeological items.

Museum Puri Lukisan: It’s in Ubud and it has a collection with more than a hundred paintings and fifty sculptures.  One of the ideas behind this museum is to keep the art for the new generations to see it and understand where they come from. It was the first museum  in Bali.

So now you can get a lot more information of the country your visiting and what kind of art they made over the centuries. We hope you enjoy each one of the museums.

Once your in Bali. you’re gonna probably go to have some fun at night other than the one you can have at the villa. Our driver will get you where you want, but here are some recommendations; there are pubs, discos and even some places near the beach.

66-double six bar restaurant: right on the beach and open every day until 6 am, this nightclub is one of the most popular, and on weekends it may be full of people. And you gonna love the music they play.

The bounty ship: a restaurant-bar-nightclub that it’s always open (24/7!), so any time you want to go, there it is. They play all kinds of music, techno, house, R&B and sometimes live music. Also, the food is delicious.

Deejay cafe: all you have to know is that it’s open and till dawn, any other information is redundant.

Hard rock cafe: the place where you can hear rock in the island, it has great musical memorabilia and some international bands plays there once in a while.

Ku deta: You have a beach view, you have three bars in one, you have all the party that you need and some more and you have some international DJ’s. What else can you ask for?

Goa 2001: One of the oldest bars in the island, and very different from many others, in this bar you’ll fell you’re in Bali and not in any generic bar from any place in the world.

Also, watch for small posters announcing special events, there are public, and a great experience and the only way to go to full moon parties or body painting parties.

We hope you’ll have fun on all these places, and you’re balinese experience will be remembered and treasured.

The Batur volcano is on the Ubud region and it’s one of the most actives in Bali and all Indonesia. It’s a volcano that have eruptions every few years (the last one in the year 2000). When it has an eruption, it goes with a moderate explosion and sometimes even with some lava flows.

The Agung volcano is the other volcano still active in Bali and also is the tallest point in the island. It’s visible from many parts and has influenced the climate and the flora. Because of this volcano, the west is a lot more green than the east (Agung takes the water from the clouds that arrive from the west). The Agung volcano erupted for the last time in 1963, but you can still see some smoke and ash coming from it.

As a place that always has a great climate, you can play many sports in Bali. And we’re not talking about walking and running (although you can also do that) but many other great sports. We already showed to you that surfing is one of the most common and great sports you can do in Bali, but it’s not the only one. You can practice many sea sports, like scuba diving; there are many good scuba diving places in the island where you can enjoy all the great nature and rich spots underwater.  Rafting is also an option, as there are many rivers where you can practice it; kayaking and canoeing are also options if you want to be with the nature in a more calmly way that going down the river with the raft. The last water sport you can do is sailing, there are many boats that will get you to travel for a couple of hours in the sea.

Once you had enough of sports that include water, you can do land exercise. For instance, you can play golf, because there are three 18 holes golf courses in Bali, so here is one way to enjoy yourself, the sun, do some exercise but also enjoy the moment. Other competitive sports you can play are tennis (there are many courts all over the island); football (the one they play in Europe, that the americans know as soccer); you can played at the beach where there are many matches played every day; and you can also play cricket or rugby (the Canggu Club, a club where you’ll have access if you come to the villa, is one of the places where you can practice both sports).

Now you know, if you come to Bali on vacation and want to play some sports, there are plenty of things to do.

Well, after the last tips we offered you some days ago here comes the second part, the one we’re you actually get on a surfboard and go into the water.

First of all, is very important that you stay always in the center of gravity of your board, you can even mark with some wax the place where you always put the chin so that you’ll exactly where’s that point where your weight and the board have the same gravity center. The next thing you need to control is your paddling, you don’t paddle with both arms at the same time because you wouldn’t be able to have a constant speed. You paddle with one arm, and then the other alternatively and that’s the way to maintain you’re speed in the water. After that you’ll have to learn to sit in your board without going to the water. The best way to do this is very calmly, the less movement you make while trying to sit the better you’ll going to do it. Once  you’ll control how to sit in your board without falling to the water, you’ll be nearly ready to get up and surf like you’ve always seen in the movies. To stand up you’ll need coordination, because what you have to do is push up your body and at the same time put your feet under you, in parallel and trying ti put them in the gravity center of the board. Once you’re already up, you have to have your arms a little higher than your waists and look up trying to keep your balance. and that’s all.

This is the basic tips, you’ll have to practice them a lot to be a better surfer and if you surf with someone else you’ll have more fun.
